Gina & Stephen's Engagement Pictures

My big sis is getting married!!! She was sweet enough to let me take her engagement pictures. I was soo excited. It was a lot of fun and really made me want to take some more.. :) I was really happy with how they turned out to. I think they are my best photos I've taken. I think it also helps that the models were pretty good looking. They are an adorable couple and I am so excited for them. I am so happy that I get to be her matron of honor. She is going to look STUNNING on June 9.. I will cry... Anyways, here is a preview of some of their engagement pictures. ( I am ready to take more..hint. .hint)

She is so beautiful.

Stephen did a great job on the ring!

Madison's 1 year Bday

Saturday, February 25

Caleb and I traveled to Kansas City for his niece's 1year birthday party! It was quite cute. Caleb's niece, Madison, is adorable!! It's crazy to believe that she is 1 already!! The party was decorated all cute with balloons and in a ladybug theme. Her mother did a wonderful job and she even made the cake! I was excited to be able to take some pictures of course! I haven't taken pictures of children before. I learned that they are much more difficult to take pictures of. There were lots of little kiddies running around.. I almost tried to take a picture of a little girl in her party hat... but i decided i might look a little creeperish. I thought that a couple of the pictures I took of Madison turned out really great. The lighting in the church was hard to figure out on my camera. I finally got my settings right towards the end. It made me want a little girl for about 2 seconds.. and then that went away pretty fast.. haha. someday.. (maybe??) .. It did make me want to take some more little kid pictures!! Let me know what you think about the pictures!!

Life is a Highway

Before I talk about the pictures I took yesterday, I need to explain something. You see I have been trying to push myself in my photography since I got my camera. I have being doing the 365 challenge (http://365project.org/joeelynn/365) and the 52 weeks of awesomeness challenge.  The 52 weeks of awesomeness challenge was created by another photographer, La Brisa, (http://labrisaphoto.blogspot.com/2011/07/52-weeks-of-awesomeness-thursday-by-la.html). They have created a list of of 52 certain topic/things that you are suppose to take a picture of each week.  I find that this challenge really pushes me to be more creative. For some reason I always wait till Sunday to complete the weekly picture.

Anyways, this weeks picture was suppose to be something traffic related. It was an amazing day yesterday for it being February. My husband has been busy with homework all weekend, leaving me to entertain myself. Sunday afternoon after a refreshing nap I grabbed my camera and hit the road. I drove around with the windows down looking for something that grabbed my attention. I ended out on some county road that I had never been on. I pulled over and started snapping pictures. I probably looked a little strange to by-passers. As this big black (creepy) van drove by I started to think that it wasn't probably the smartest idea to be out in the middle of some random county road. Especially, since I didn't tell my husband specifically where I was going. However, I quickly took some "creative" shots and headed back on the road. I drove out to the Konza Prairie hoping I could find a pretty road with tall grass on both sides. I was sadly disappointed. I finally gave up my on photo adventure and headed home. I found it quite fun to take my camera and drive around with the windows down. It felt kind of exhilarating and freeing.

I wasn't overly all impressed with the photos I took. I think sometimes I have too high of expectations for myself. Although, I think some of them turned out alright.  Let me know what you think! :) Next week's picture is suppose to be an object that says something about me.. hmmmm. I don't know what I will do yet.. but I will probably put it off until Sunday..

Have a wonderful week!

New Blog

Happy Monday!
You may be wondering why I created this blog. I mean I have created two other blogs that didn't really go anywhere and now I created another one. However, I am hoping that is different with this blog. As I grow as a photographer, I would like to be able to showcase my work ( even though it's nothing amazing...yet.) I felt that I was becoming overly annoying with all the photos I was posting on facebook.  Also, posting them on facebook it doesn't allow me to go into much detail about the photos. I may not currently have a career as a photographer but I would love to get to that point. I feel that this blog will help me grow in my photography. Photography has always been a passion of mine but has become even more so recently. I truly enjoy capturing the wonderful moments & blessings that God has created. I feel that through photography I am able to glorify God. I hope that you enjoy my photos and feel free to post any comments. I am very much still a work in progress. I have a lot of growing to do and I hope that you can help me with that! Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog!!

Sincerely,
                Joee
